An effort to uplift the lives of needy
Mahesh Foundation aims to uplift the communities living under tremendous poverty and empowers them to live with dignity. Mahesh foundation has directly and positively impacted the lives of over 4000 families by providing access to basic healthcare, sanitation and education for children through its various community programs.
Aadhar Mahila Udyog is a livelihood program that supports slum dwellers and needy women. This program has supporting many such women and helping them to earn livelihood to support their families. Slum women who used to beg or other activities have been earning their livelihood through this program. As well as their children also getting an education in the Utkarsha school.
Adolescence is a critical link between childhood and adulthood, characterized by significant physical, psychological, and social transitions. It is necessary to educate adolescents about these transitions and has to convey the needed information through authentic sources. Hence, Mahesh Foundation started HIV/AIDS awareness and Adolescence Education programs. We visited more than 50 schools and interacted with thousands of adolescents to aware of HIV and adolescent education.
The School in the cloud is an initiative inspired by Mr. Sugata Mitra, a professor of Educational Technology. This helps them in self-organized learning with digital technology. These First-generation learners require lots more visual stimuli hence, the school in the cloud will ease their learning. A Self-Organized Learning Environment, or SOLE, can exist anywhere there are computers, Internet connections, and students who are ready to learn. Within a SOLE, students are given the freedom to learn collaboratively using the internet.
The Aadhar Vidya Program was established by the Mahesh Foundation in 2012 with the goal of empowering every child through education. Its primary focus is on helping children from disadvantaged and economically poorer areas of society. We offer a school kit that includes a variety of supplies like a school bag, notebooks, pens, pencils, drawing books, crayons, and compass boxes.
Aadhar Village Program
Aadhar Village program serves as a catalyst for positive change, uplifting communities and fostering sustainable development. Recognizing the challenges faced by individuals living in slums, the foundation has taken up the responsibility of improving their living conditions and ensuring a better future for them. Through this program, the foundation strives to empower slum communities by offering access to sustainable energy solutions, such as solar power, which not only reduces their dependence on unreliable and polluting energy sources but also contributes to environmental conservation. To date, supported 200 such slum dweller families in two slums.
