Accept and Refuse Donation
Mahesh Foundation believes that harnessing the power of the private sector and philanthropists is crucial in realizing its mission “Saving Lives of Needy Patients”. Donations are accepted and welcomed from individuals, partnerships, corporations, foundations, government agencies, or other entities, without limitations. However, there may be limited circumstances when Mahesh Foundation will decline a donation, and it reserves the right to do so. All decisions to accept donations will be made by the Board.
We have a number of high-risk indicators, where we assess the opportunity/ donation on an individual basis to balance what we can accomplish versus the risks. For all high-risk donations we follow a robust Donation Acceptance Process. We ensure that we make decisions that are in the best interests of our mission: which means, assessing potential risks to our programs/ initiatives, our staff Mahesh Foundation’s reputation and effectiveness whilst taking into consideration the impact Mahesh Foundation could has through its programming and advocacy by accepting the donation. Periodic partnerships are reviewed at-least annually or as and when the need arises where it is apparent that the risk of partnership has changed materially. We reserve the right to refuse donations or terminate partnerships where the activities of the organization or individual conflict with our goal of achieving our mission.
Donations deriving from specified activities that are incompatible with our charitable objects are classified as ‘non-Acceptable’ donations and we reserve the right to decline or to accept donations from donors
The donations/funds may be raised either locally or through foreign sources. Compliance with the clauses in the Memorandum of understanding or grant agreement with the donor need to be ensured.
