About KSAPS Foundation
Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS) was registered as a society on 9th December 1997; it is an autonomous institution and the highest policy-making structure regarding HIV/AIDS in Karnataka, headed by the Chief Minister. The objectives of KSAPS is to prevent HIV transmission and to control its spread and provide technical support in HIV/AIDS prevention and control to Government and Non-Governmental Organizations.
Our Challenges
The People Living with HIV (PLHIV) are still out of the real world due to stigma and discrmination around HIV/AIDS. There is a need of the hour to bring them to mainstream society as well as made available of government schemes and social inclusion. In 2013, Mahesh Foundation started Gokak Care and Support Center in Gokak Taluka, Belagavi. In its initial stage, there was need of guidance and support from a prime institute in HIV/AIDS people care and support.
Our Solution
KSAPS has been one of the program partners in successful execution of our Gokak CSC program. KSAPS has been working with Mahesh Foundation to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS in the Belagavi district for the past 7 years. Counseling has also been initiated for HIV infected to bring them to mainstream society.
